Prenatal Care
A prenatal doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to expectant parents during pregnancy, childbirth, and the early postpartum period.
Unlike a midwife or obstetrician, as a doula I do not provide medical care or deliver babies; instead, I offer continuous support to the mother and their partner, helping them navigate the various stages of pregnancy and prepare for childbirth.
During the prenatal period, a prenatal I might:
-
Provide education about pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
-
Offer emotional support and reassurance to the expectant parents.
-
Assist in creating a birth plan or preferences for labor and delivery.
-
Offer relaxation techniques, comfort measures, and coping strategies for labor.
-
Help with understanding medical procedures and interventions.
-
Provide resources and referrals for childbirth education classes, lactation support, or other services.
Overall, my goal is to empower expectant parents to make informed decisions about their childbirth experience and to help them feel supported and confident as they prepare for the arrival of their baby.

For You have created my conscience. You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise You, for I am awesomely, wonderfully made! Wonderful are Your works— and my soul knows that very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw me when I was unformed, and in Your book were written the days that were formed— when not one of them had come to be.
17 How precious are Your thoughts, O God! How great is the sum of them!
